This is a static archive of qanda.digipres.org, the Open Preservation Foundation community question-and-answer site. The original ran on Question2Answer 1.6.2, a PHP application first released in 2013.
As part of decommissioning the legacy server that hosted it, the live application has been replaced by this read-only snapshot rendered directly from the Question2Answer database. It preserves the real community content while removing the software, its attack surface, and the registration spam that had accumulated on the open sign-up form.
What is preserved
- 133 questions, 234 answers and 193 comments, with their original vote counts, authors and dates.
- 172 tags, each with its own index page.
- Content spanning 2013 to 2024.
What is not included
- User accounts, email addresses and passwords. The source database held tens of thousands of spam registrations against a small number of genuine contributors; none of that account data is published here. Profile pictures are stored as copies alongside the archive, so no page discloses your email address or its hashed form to anyone.
- Voting, answering, commenting and any other interactive feature. This is a fixed snapshot.
Removing your picture
Profile pictures are reproduced from the original site. If you would like yours removed, email info@openpreservation.org and we will take it out at the next update. The same applies to any other image or content of yours in this archive.
Asking new questions
The community has moved on from the standalone Q&A. To ask new questions or continue a discussion, use the OPF organisation on GitHub or the Open Preservation Foundation website.
